Our civil appeals team is made up of experienced and accomplished advocates who profoundly understand the appellate process. Our civil appellate litigators have knowledge of not just appellate law but have substantial trial level experience.
This dual expertise provides us with a competitive advantage: not just to navigate our client’s cases through the appellate process in the present case but consider the potential impact on the client and/or their company in later litigation. Our appellate attorneys are also able to lean on the vast experience of our firm members in many different areas of the law to develop reasoned and comprehensive arguments on appeal.
We can also serve as embedded appellate counsel, advising on legal issues, precedent, or other issues that could affect a judge’s ruling, before or during trial—especially if an appeal is anticipated. An appellate attorney can help preserve issues before or during trial or, if needed, help make the proper post-trial motions to try and preserve the record.
